چکیده

PurposeWe aimed to characterize the incidence of complications regarding olecranon osteotomy, looking more specifically at type osteotomy and fixation construct used repair osteotomy.MethodsIn accordance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses guidelines, a comprehensive search was performed. A study included if it an adult clinical study, transverse or chevron performed, explicitly states osteotomy. quality assessment performed in each prior data extraction.ResultsWe 39 studies total 1,445 patients. Most patients who were being treated primarily distal humerus fracture. The overall delayed union 27/643 (4.2%), higher rate than (5/49 (10.2%) vs 22/595 (3.7%)). Nonunion occurred 43/811 (5.4%) patients, (6/73 (8.2%) vs. 37/712 (5.2%)). Implant failure loss reduction 44/746 (5.9%) (11/49 (22.4%) 33/688 (4.8%)). removal implants 236/1078 (21.9%) all highest those that plate 44/99 (44.4%).ConclusionsCompared underwent had union, nonunion, implant requiring revision surgery. indicates should be informed nearly half fixed removed after implantation.Type study/level evidenceTherapeutic III. Olecranon osteotomy fixation using a novel device: the olecranon sled.

A posterior approach to the elbow utilizing an olecranon osteotomy has been shown to provide excellent visualization of the distal humerus articular surface. However, many bony stabilization and fixation methods for the olecranon osteotomy are usually prominent, frequently symptomatic, and often require a second operation for removal. This paper evaluates the use of an innovative device, the ol...

Biomechanical Testing of an Olecranon Osteotomy Nail

INTRODUCTION Comminuted distal humerus fractures often require large access to the distal humerus for anatomic reconstruction of the joint surface. In these cases an olecranon osteotomy is usually performed, allowing the triceps muscle to be moved out of the way with clear access to the distal humerus. After fixing the distal humerus, the olecranon is often fixed with two k-wires inserted longi...

Efficacy and safety of tension band wiring versus plate fixation in olecranon fractures: a systematic review and meta-analysis

BACKGROUND Olecranon fracture (OF) is a common upper limb fracture, and the most commonly used techniques are still tension band wiring (TBW) and plate fixation (PF). The aim of the current study is to discuss whether TBW or PF technique of internal fixation is better in the treatment of OFs, using the method of meta-analysis. METHODS The eligible studies were acquired from PubMed, CNKI, Emba...
